Data model
Each home profile starts with a base mix of small, medium, large, wardrobe, and dish boxes. Bedrooms, people, and room add-ons add small increments. Stuff level then adjusts the mix by a multiplier.
Formula
normal estimate = ceil((base profile + room add-ons + bedroom and people adjustments) x stuff multiplier). Low and high ranges are shown around the normal estimate because real homes vary.
Limitations
The estimate cannot see your furniture, decluttering decisions, storage density, moving distance, or mover requirements. Treat the result as a planning checklist and update it after each major packing pass.
Sources used for framing
The model is informed by common moving supply categories used across major moving and storage companies, plus practical checklist guidance from public moving resources. Values are manually reviewed and kept static for low maintenance.
