Our approach

We build simple household planning tools with clear assumptions. The moving box calculator starts with home size, people, bedrooms, room add-ons, and stuff level, then turns those inputs into a box mix and supply checklist. The site does not sell boxes, does not collect moving leads, and does not ask for an email before showing results.

Who the site is for

BoxReady Planner is written for everyday DIY movers: renters, homeowners, students, families, roommates, and people helping friends move. The guidance focuses on decisions that are hard to make in a store aisle, such as how many small boxes to keep for heavy items, when wardrobe boxes are worth it, and how to plan kitchen and fragile supplies.

Editorial standard

Each guide should add a checklist, table, example, or decision rule rather than repeating generic moving advice. We prefer ranges over false precision because real homes vary. When a page gives a number, it also explains the assumptions that can move that number up or down.

Independence and limits

The site is independent from box retailers and moving companies. Estimates are planning ranges, not guaranteed packing orders. Furniture, decluttering, storage density, mover requirements, and packing style can change the final count, so every calculator result should be reviewed before purchasing supplies.
