The weight rule

Dense items belong in small boxes even when there is extra room. Large boxes should stay light enough for normal lifting, stair turns, and stacking. If a box is hard to lift before it is full, switch categories rather than forcing the fit.

Specialty boxes are optional but useful

Wardrobe, dish, picture, TV, and file boxes are not required for every move. They become useful when the item shape or risk would otherwise create repacking, loose padding, or awkward lifting.
